WeMeta is a metaverse analytics company founded by Winston Robson, whose platform provides tools for investors to understand, trade, and manage digital/NFT properties. The company shows property insights that show owners, builders, and potential buyers how their digital land is being used, why it’s being used, and what visitors to the property are interested in, all in real-time via the company's analytics portal. WeMeta is the data layer for the Metaverse. Through the company's analytics engine, API, and in-game plugins - they help Metaverses understand what is driving value in their games, how their players are engaging, and surface tools to drive those insights to builders, brands, and communities.

The Problem

WeMeta wanted to increase their media profile by being featured in a number of top-tier publications covering the Metaverse, Blockchain, NFT’s, and other related industries. The company was looking for brand awareness and credibility for their analytics platform, and Lightyear Strategies created and implemented an outreach strategy for WeMeta to gain media attention. The Strategy

The strategy Lightyear Strategies took to boost the brand’s media attention was through successful pitches and commentary opportunities that aligned with WeMeta’s messaging. In order to accomplish these media coverage goals, Lightyear Strategies created a list of top outlets that revolved around Metaverse, Blockchain, and NFT’s. We then began targeting our outreach to those reporters within these industries. Some of these outlets included CoinTelegraph, CoinDesk, TechCrunch, Forbes, Business Insider, and Yahoo! Finance. Another strategy Lightyear Strategies pursued was to capitalize as much as possible on the trending news of the crypto/DeFi space. With Winston’s knowledge of the industry and willingness to speak about current trends at length, we began to leverage his expertise to those targeted outlets. Following these successful pitches, WeMeta entered the broader discourse and conversation around metaverse technology, and due to the nature of the cryptocurrency industry, we were able to position Winston as a leading thought leader surrounding events like the crypto market crash and the FTX collapse. Likewise, the opportunities these pitches opened up have allowed WeMeta to gain traction in the media and recognition for what they were trying to achieve.
